The Dangers of Porn

Muslim is always commanded to lower his/her gaze, let alone give a loose rein to his/her hungry eye to look at the private parts of others. More importantly, such acts cause psychological and social injury. Besides, many people in general, and teenagers in particular, waste their lives and times doing things which Allah forbade them to do. A Muslim is always commanded to spend his time in useful things, cherish what benefits him in the present, plan for his coming days, and always make the reward of the Hereafter his/her top priority.

Pornography is sadly a billion dollar industry which many countries such as the USA heavily depend on I know that is off the topic but I would like to highlight the difficulties of avoiding this or even banning the whole thing. It is one of the diseases of a human mind and it have severe consequences. In the UK there has been recent article reports on children the age of 10 have access to pornography, one child was even expelled from school for sexually abusing another pupil after learning the vile material on the internet. This leads to my next point.. Despite the Internet being the powerful source of Independent media, unfortunately it brings easy access to Pornography.

As the user remains anonymous they can feel less shameful of watching it. Even sexual content in the media has grown, you still see female celebrities who now prefer themselves being a sexualized objects and increasing number of their younger fans who are now becoming more persistent and looking up to women they see on tv.

In the Quran ;
[24:30] Tell the believing men that they shall subdue their eyes (and not stare at the women), and to maintain their chastity. This is purer for them. GOD is fully Cognizant of everything they do.

This is self-explanatory and very clear of what it states, of men are not allowed to stare at women what makes it ok to share or watch pornography. It attacks your spiritual strength and it can cause a severe mental illness. As a woman I feel ashamed that we have this is our society, yes we see sof sexual content through media and entertainment which is avoidable, but pornography is just vile and disgusting. There’s been high volume child abuse/pornographic materials and offences being committed ie. Ian Watkins the lead member of “lost prophet” is Prime example. My advice to Muslims is resist these temptations, read up the horrific stories that pornography had lead many people to inhumanity and seek Allah’s guidance, forgiveness and keep repenting. Furthermore educate our youths, increase your internet security and raise awareness to promote safeguard from Childeren sharing service sexual abuse.
